Influence of incorrect desiccant on IG unit–Pure clay desiccant

What will happen if we use pure clay desiccant as insulating glass desiccant?
1.    Influence aesthetics:
The dust of the clay desiccant will slip out of the spacer holes and make the glass dirty.
2.    Influence IG’s lifespan:
The extremely low dew-point-control capacity will make IG’s lifespan less than five years.
3.    Influence energy-saving effect:
Dew drops will appear in the interlayer, what’s more serious is that the interlayer is full of water.
                           

How could that happen?
There is a diagram of molecular sieve and clay, we can see that clay desiccant has only the adsorption volume of about 1.6% below the dew point of -8℃, but molecular sieve 3A has the adsorption volume of 16% under the same condition, obviously there is tenflod gap in adsorption volume between molecular sieve 3A and clay desiccant. And there is fortyflod gap at the dew point of -20℃, eightfold gap at the dew point of 0℃. The extremely low dew-point-control capacity of clay desiccant makes the glass easily dew, and severely affects the lifespan of insulating glass. 
                           

It is easily break into pieces when the not calcined clay is put in water. In IG unit, this clay desiccant come into contact with moisture in the air. As time goes on, more and more dust will happen, then go out of the spacer holes, stain the glass, and make the glass dirty.
How to identify pure clay desiccant?
1.      PH value is 7-9, non-acerbic and non-irritant.
2.      Mix the saleratus and infusion, no precipition.
3.      Delta T value is very low, even lower than 10℃.
The gas adsorption value is qualified.
